Women Financial Advisors on the Move

Women Financial Advisors Well, looks like Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management has the lead of all financial services firms on Barron’s “Top 100 Women Financial Advisors” list…happened last year too. They led with 35 in the rankings which included Bank of America investment Services.

So how does one make the list?

According to R.J. Shook, author of the Winner’s Circle books on best practices in the industry, the rankings are based on the size of each advisor’s book of business, the level of revenue generated and the quality of service provided.

In addition, regulatory records and internal documents were examined and interviews with the advisors’ colleagues and supervisors were conducted.

The consensus is that women seem to have a slightly different approach in dealing with their clients and this approach is serving them well in these times of turmoil and uncertainty.

Of the successful women financial advisor candidates we have dealt with, the majority state a priority of staying in touch with clients more frequently and assuring them that they are watching their portfolios versus pushing some new idea for making more money (male advisor priority?).

But don’t be fooled; these women are motivated, aggressive, and determined to not only succeed, but be good at what they do, and they’re moving up the ranks within the financial industry…and that includes the regulatory side!
