Talk about clever marketing ideas, I have to hand it to Roswell Wealth Management (RWM) of Bend, Oregon who targeted 125 preferred high-net worth clients on a marketing budget of $25,000 which resulted in 12 new clients and boosted the firms AUM by 60% over its 2010 level and its revenues by 12%.
So how did they do it? Each prospect received a personalized promotional gift based on research about the prospect.
Each gift was packaged in a white box with the firm’s R logo on the outside and contained a cover letter regarding the product. One client opened his box and found a Louisville Slugger baseball bat with his name engraved on it and a note that read:
“You have been identified as a heavy hitter and we want to talk to you!”
Other gifts included a desktop safe, lottery tickets, a Maglite flashlight, and a cell phone.
