Packed up two cars, with my wife, three kids, dog, bikes and boogie boards…had to get out of the Arizona scorch. And yes, it just happened to be my 20 year High School Reunion.

I tried to keep in sync with the goings and comings of the financial industry, and of ongoing issues here at Willis-Consulting, Inc. (Even put on my suit and tie for a client meeting one morning.) But the lure of the cool ocean air, the surf, a new beach cruiser, and commiserating with my high school football cronies seemed to monopolize most of my time.

But you know what? It’s ok, because time away has a way of rejuvenating the mind and focus. And not much changed while I was gone…brokers are still on the move, the Feds are still seeking more control by appointing czars, and the big bonuses are flowing…and I’ve bounced back very quickly!

You should want to share information because recruiters can be a great source of what’s happening in the industry and a good source of advice. We can share market information, pinpoint trends, and introduce you to other professionals, in addition to assisting you in determining your own market value…and in return?

FAs can offer what’s happening in your own sector or firm and about individuals who might make good candidates for our searches. Makes no difference if your currently looking for a job or not, it can be a win-win relationship, provided you find the right recruiter.

Willis Consulting has the reputation and the integrity in developing these professional relationships, so our advice is don’t wait until you are actively searching for a new home…build now for future needs! Send your resume to our financial recruiters today.

Financial Recruiters Off to China?

While reviewing the U.S. subprime crisis, (including the number of banks who have announced cutbacks), as a financial recruiter, I constantly look for new avenues of opportunity.

It seems to me (and a lot of others) that the future lies overseas throughout Asia and in particular, China. A growing number of financial institutions, (including Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Morgan Stanley, UBS, and Merrill Lynch) are expanding in the region and attempting to capitalize on soaring investment banking fees in China.

According to a recent report in China Daily, China International Capital Corp. LTD’s Chief Economist, Ha Jiming says “China’s capital market has great potential in several sectors, including investment banking services and wealth management services…”

If you combine this with the latest projection that the Chinese economy is expected to overtake the U.S. by 2025, (PricewaterhouseCoopers 11th Annual Global CEO Survey) I can predict a huge shortage of suitable professionals in this arena…

So ok, our recruiters at Willis-Consulting, Inc. need to update their passports ASAP!
